Atty. Josh, Atty. Alex and I had the honor of representing the Advocates Philippines in today's Thanksgiving Celebration of Philippine Relief and Development Services (PHILRADS) for the success of the disaster relief operations in 2009. We missed our Atty. Winnie and ate Maloi also Erma who are all participating in the annual Prayer & Fasting of CCF.
PHILRADS is the relief and development arm of Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) to actualize our mandate of serving the poor and the needy in the Philippines; through the local churches.
The Guest of Honor was DSWD Assistant Secretary Ruel G. Lucentales, our brother in Christ. Be joyful always; pray continually and give thanks in all cirmcumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) is the heart of the message conveyed by Bishop Efraim M. Tendero. Calamities or storms (either figuratively and literally) make us stronger persons and crisis gives us great opportunities to help. We should not be a fault finder, we cannot blame God. When we trust God we can rejoice and give thanks even in the midst of calamity, he added.
