Natural Ways to Stay YOUNG, ENERGETIC and SEXY

“WHAT YOU LOOK ON THE OUTSIDE DEPENDS A LOT ON WHAT YOU DO FOR YOURSELF ON THE INSIDE.”
-Dr. Earl Mindell-

The cause of aging is the deterioration or the degeneration of cells. For that reason, the aging body and the mind both need maintenance just like any machine.

Cosmetic surgery is definitely NOT the key to maintain our good looks. Only in cases where there are natural deformities or damage to one’s features caused by accidents that cosmetic surgery becomes a necessity, says Ms. Cory Quirino. There are also cosmetic products nowadays that have harmful ingredients like the parabens.

Below are the NATURAL ways I have gathered to stay YES! - Young, Energetic , Sexy, and beautiful or handsome.

1. EXERCISE. - It delays aging and strengthens bones;

2. RELAX. – meditation (prayer and Bible) and relaxation are stress busters.

3. READ regularly and do crossword puzzles. – keep learning, it prevents memory loss.

4. SLEEP – 8 hours of sleep is enough for me.

5. WATER or buko juice/tea. – drink 8 glasses daily.

6. LAUGH a lot – the best medicine!

7. Proper DIET - Eat more Fiber. (vegetables, fruits, whole grains and legumes)

8. Right Supplements/Vitamins.

9. Steam (do not boil) or eat your veggies raw to preserve the vitamins.

10. Always wear a bright smile. - ANG MASUNGIT PANGIT! :)

In addition, according to the book “Vitamin Bible” by Dr. Earl Mindell, an American nutritionist, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE we must keep away also from:

- fast food
- chocolates
- sofdrinks
- coffee
- excessive sugar
- junk food

Lawyer or Liar?

“An HONEST answer is like a kiss on the lips.” - Proverbs 24:46

A lawyer is a guardian or minister of truth and the rule of law, and an indispensable instrument in the fair and impartial administration of justice. The good moral character that every attorney must possess includes at least common honesty, whether in his professional or private capacity.

Law school is a training ground for the noble legal profession. In fact, every bar candidate who lied or did not disclose accurate information on his application, or if there are charges filed against him involving moral turpitude is either prevented from taking the Bar Exam or will no be allowed to take the lawyer’s oath in case he has passed it.

But why do people always think lawyers are liars? Because they believe Lawyers often shade the truth to win a case. NO, that is just a fiction! The truth is, cases are won or lost based upon the CREDIBILITY and VERACITY of the evidences presented and the faithful application of the law. It is also the duty of an attorney to exert his best judgment in order to defend and protect the interest of his client. He cannot even divulge top secret extended to him by his client pursuant to the Rules safeguarding privileged communications. But he has every right to require his client to be honest and transparent to promote collaboration and efficiency, just like the doctor-patient relationship.

Who establihed Philippine Democracy, Tita Cory or Uncle Sam?

From February 22 to 25, 1986, the whole world watched in awe as the nonviolent and prayerful “People Power” revolution leads to the end of the 20-year Marcos era.   I was just starting grade school then who had absolutely no comprehension regarding political context.

Now the humankind is watching our nation once again, but this time sympathizing with us for the death of the leader of the above-mentioned revolution, former President Corazon Cojuanco Aquino.   Shortly after she had taken oath of office, she created the Constitutional Commission for the adoption of the present 1987 Constitution to restrict the powers of the Presidency preventing repetition of 13-year of oppression and repression of Marcos regime through the Martial Law. (but I sometimes jokingly say that my real icon is Cory Quirino :)

Nevertheless, with all due respect to Tita Cory, she was not actually the one who established democracy to the Philippines but just “brought it back” or simply restored it (thank you Tita Cory).   The provision of Sec.1, Article II of the 1987 Constitution that “The Philippines is a democratic and republican state.” is a mere REPRODUCTION of the original principle in the 1935 Democratic Constitution since the 1973 Marcos Constitution attempted to replace the presidential system with a parliamentary government.   Suffice it to say that it was the American people who helped establish Philippine democracy through the  enactment of the Tydings-Mc Duffie Act that provided for the drafting and guidelines of the 1935 Commonwealth Constitution.

Many of the original provisions of the 1935 Constitution, particularly those pertaining to the legislative and the executive departments have been restored because of the revival of the bicameral Congress of the Philippines and the strictly presidential system. Moreover, the Bill of Rights has been considerably improved with the creation of Commission on Human Rights (sec. 11, Art. II, 1987 Constitution).

DOLE is an Executive Branch entity

The Labor Standards law and the Labor Relations law do not apply to partnership, co-ownership or independent contractorship. In view of that, a person cannot pursue a claim before the Department of Labor or its offices or agencies such as the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) if the basis of complaint is not employment.

The DOLE serves as the policy-making, programming, coordinating, and administrative entity of the Executive Branch of the government in the field of labor and employment. It has exclusive authority in the administration and enforcement of labor and employment laws and such other laws. The complainant of a labor dispute therefore cannot go directly to the court regardless of whether or not the disputant stands in the proximate employer-employee relation, unless he has exhausted all available administrative remedies pursuant to the Principle of Exhaustion.
